“Apart from her distinguished professional career in the medical field Dr Manjula OConnors extensive volunteerism with the Indian and broader community is also to be commended. In 2009 Dr OConnor was instrumental in forming the Task-force Against Domestic Violence in Indian and Ethnic Communities. The task-force was formed in response to increasing reports of domestic violence and other communities. The Task-force works to raise awareness about domestic violence, what constitutes domestic violence, when and where to go for help as well as researching social causes of domestic violence .”
