NEW ACHRH FAMILY VIOLENCE PREVENTION PROJECT FUNDED BY VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT

Congratulations to all the SOUTH ASIAN COMMUNITIES. Victorian Government’s funding of project. This is a win for South Asian migrants and we welcome other migrants in as well.

“United we stand” aims to achieve ACHRH vision of an equitable and harmonious society and promotion of family harmony.

History of the Project

In 2015-16 a community participatory theatre action research project “Natak Vihar” performed community theatre workshops and 3 live performances with the aim to find solutions to family violence in South Asian communities.  All key findings were recorded and the current project builds on the foundation of Natak Vihar

We have strengthened and formed collaborations between seven South Asian community organizations including Overseas Medical Graduate Association. We have sought services of experts to help conduct this project largely free of charge.

ACHRH  will  provide following services free of charge – serviced office space for planning and on-going meetings over 12 month period, coordinating and chairing meetings, membership of advisory group, collate data and store data,  expert input   into making sure the project is accurate. Project design, implementation and management by ACHRH pro bono.

ACHRH has received $49,000 in funding, the actual cost of the project is $123,000.   In-kind and cash support from ACHRH, OMGA and of course VOLUNTEER in-kind time donation will make up the difference

We look forward to your organisation’s participation in the project.
