Proclamation of anti dowry abuse law occurred on 29/3/19 . The Victorian  law states

Meaning of family violence
In the examples at the foot of section 5(1)(b) of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008—

“Examples”  
• using coercion, threats, physical abuse or emotional or psychological abuse to demand or receive dowry, either before
or after a marriage.”;
